Three Different Display Variants

You can use three possible display variants (scenes):

  1. Live
  2. Live + Replay
  3. Replay Only

Live

In this mode, all available gliders within a 20-kilometer radius are displayed. Since these are live data, a connection to the OGN server is required. This happens fully automatically, and you don’t need to worry about it. You will see a table with all available gliders. If data is available, you can select the desired glider. Additionally, the table displays the current connection statuses. The quality and availability depend on the data provided by OGN. The color coding is as follows:

  • Green: Data available (< 5 seconds)
  • Orange: Waiting for data (> 5 seconds and < 15 seconds)
  • Red: No data available (> 15 seconds)

Replay Only

In this mode, recorded flights can be displayed. Currently, “Glider Viewer” focuses exclusively on IGC files. Other formats, such as GPX, are not yet considered. WeGlide offers a perfect platform to find flights and download data. The quality of the data (IGC files) is very good. Once the IGC file is on the Android smartphone/tablet, it can be selected and used in “Glider Viewer.”

Currently, 10 flights per location can be displayed. Once the flight is started, you can use a slider to play the flight forward or backward.

Live + Replay

In this mode, you can add up to 10 recorded flight to the live data. It is a combination of “Live” and “Replay,” with the live data determining the date and weather. You cannot influence the replay flight—fast-forwarding or rewinding is not possible.
